This recording is the culmination of a twelve month journey for the band. It
has seen us take several roads - writing, rehearsing, arranging, re-arranging,
recording and finally releasing 'LETTING GO'. The album sees the introduction
of our new lead vocalist Eamon McElholm.
On our way we called on friends, some old, some new, all of whom helped us reach
our destination. It's been a wonderful experience and one we hope you will enjoy.
Happy listening.
Yours,
Paul, Maurice, Eamon & Davy.
Special Thanks :

To our families and friends, at home and abroad for continuing to believe -
again!
Track Notes
1. LETTING GO (McElholm)
I was looking for attention I was singing out of time.
Staring at those faces I was thinking of a rhyme
But I'm coming to a cross-roads. Where do I go?
Sometimes it's easier you know when you turn around and go
And leave this old life far behind, has it been a waste of time
I'm changing and I need to be free I'm letting Go.
I'm letting go of the this world 'cause it's tearing me apart.
Letting go of the chain that I've locked around your heart
Letting go of my dreams 'cause they're falling apart.
I'm letting go I'm letting go I'm letting go.
Why should I worry anymore I want to open up that door
The door that's keeping me inside where it's easier to hide
From that wicked world outside I am fearless now I'm letting go…….
I'm letting go of this world 'cause it's tearing me apart
Letting go of the chain that I've locked around your heart
Letting go of my dreams 'cause they're falling apart
I'm letting go I'm letting go I'm letting go.
Repeat Chorus.
2. THE MAIDS OF CASTLEBAR - Reels. (Trad. Arr. Stockton's Wing)
(i) The Maids of Castlebar
(ii) Miss Thorntons
(iii) The Cottage in The Grove
(iv) Johnny Henrys
These four tunes have been doing the rounds for a long time now. Having been recorded by many of the "great" traditional musicians over the years, we hope our rendition does them justice.
3. JIG MAYHEM! (Lennon/Roche/McElholm)
This set is a combination of two tunes. One written by Maurice and Eamonn, the other by Paul. It was written in the month of May hence its title.
4. ANOTHER DAY (McElholm)
He was just a young man He was not a fool
He was not a sinner in a sinner's book of rules.
He seemed to me so innocent but I was young those days
He wasn't born a patriot but he died that way.
Would you listen to the angels when they fly from where he lay
Or is the song forgotten when the writer's gone away.
Would you listen to your country or is that what people say?
Can you hear the wind as it blows on ANOTHER DAY?
Confined to silence they wouldn't have his word.
His feelings weren't for hunger they never really were.
But just to voice the people who all believed the same.
For human rights and self respect For everyone the same.
Would you listen to the angels when they fly from where he lay
Or is the song forgotten if the writer's gone away.
Would you listen to your country or is that what people say?
Can you hear the wind, Can you hear the wind.
Can you hear the wind as it blows on ANOTHER DAY?
5. ALL THE TIME (McElholm)
I got your letter today. So sorry to hear that you're going away.
I got the message today. You're leaving and I'll be deceiving again.
Don't you know what you mean to me.
Have I told you that I really love you before.
Now you're going across the sea.
Don't you think Australia's a long way to go.
But I'll never stop waiting and I'll never stop wanting
And I'll never stop loving you,
And I know I'll be fine as long as you know
All that I've been telling you
And I'll never stop waiting and I'll never stop wanting
And I'll never stop loving you.
I want to live in this country don't want to live on my own.
I want to live in a castle I don't want to grow old.
I want to live forever with you by my side day and night.
All The Time.
I saw you for the last time yesterday.
You were smiling I know you were crying inside.
We talked with not much to say
I'll not be at the harbour when your boat is sailing away.
I belong where these people do.
You know I would never survive but I have tried to tell you.
That I'll never stop waiting and I'll never stop wanting
And I'll never stop loving you.
And I know I'll be fine as long as you know
All that I've been telling you.
I'll never stop waiting and I'll never stop wanting
And I'll never stop loving you.
And I know I'll be fine as long as you know
All that I've been telling you.
I want to live in this country don't want to live on my own.
I want to live in a castle I don't want to grow old.
I want to live forever with you by my side day and night.
All The Time. All The Time. All The Time.
6. EASTWOOD (Lennon)
Inspired by a documentary, which focused on the bravery and courage of ordinary people caught up in a situation of war. This piece is dedicated to the memory of a friend Eleanor Mary, a lady for whom Eastwood was home.
7. THE ROSSCLOGHER JIGS (Roche/Lennon)
(i) The St. Michaels' Jig
(ii) Rossclogher
(iii) Up Leitrim
Written on a cold frosty winters morning in Dublin, Paul and Maurice have combined these first two tunes with an old traditional tune from North Leitrim - as the title suggests.
8. I'LL BELIEVE AGAIN (McElholm)
When the night is closing in
And I'm alone, alone again
Nothing to do nothing to say
When there is no one there to guide my way
And I know I'll survive
Or at least I'll try
If I do without you then I'll believe again
If I can eat if I can sleep
If I can feel so deep
If I can drink from your cup
Then I guess I can do enough
If I can cry all night
If I can fight the pain
If I do without you then I'll believe again
When the days are rolling by
Well I can sigh and I can cry and do all those things
I want to do
It may be strange and surprising
But it takes me a while just getting over you
Instrumental
When every day seems just the same
When I'm left with no one but myself to blame
When I'm behind those closed doors again
When I'm back where I was once before
When I don't really care anymore
When I know what I'm here for
When I do without you then I'll believe again!
Repeat first verse
9. ANYONE OUT THERE (McElholm)
Let this day pass you by. Take a look at this sky.
Watch the stars as they shine tonight.
And it's hard to believe something you'll never see
And you won't even look in my eyes anymore.
Is there Anyone Out There who can tell me the reason why
Anyone Out There who can see in your light.
Anyone Out There can you tell me why it's so bright?
And you've touched my heart
I can see through your smile
But I notice the pain that you're feeling inside
And is this our world
Because it seems to be slipping away
And I know there's a price we'll have to pay.
Is There Anyone Out There who can tell me the reason why
Anyone Out There who can see in your light
Anyone Out There can you tell me why it's so bright
Is there Anyone Out There who can tell me the reason why
Anyone Out There who can see in your light
Anyone Out There can you tell me why it's so bright?
10. THE SLIABH (SLIEVE) Lucan Polkas 1, 2 & 3 (Roche/Lennon)
Three polkas here, not as you would expect from Sliabh Luchra in County Kerry, but from Lucan in County Dublin. We hope you'll pardon the pun!
11. HOLD YOU FOREVER (McElholm)
I used to travel around the world the smoky bars I'd play.
I used to read those letters that you wrote me on the way.
But now I'm getting older and I'm helplessly in love.
I'm going to hold you forever.
You never understood my intention all along.
It's only now you've realised that maybe you were wrong.
You never believed me when I said you were my girl.
I'm going to hold you forever.
As I'm moving along I'll remember
All the feeling, all the dreams we shared.
Let me sing you a song you remember.
When I'm Holding You Forever.
I stopped the smoky corners I stopped the travelling too.
I learnt to sing a real song and I sang it just for you.
I had to promise to myself to spend some time alone, now
I'm going to hold you forever.
I'm going to hold you forever.
